My Baby Shower Cake!

Yes, I made my own baby shower cake and I am so glad I did. Not only is it exactly what I wanted but the figures I made will go on a shelf in the baby's room! I made the figures out of fondant with gum text in it and it took me 14 hours just to make the figures. We love the Tiny Titans and that is what his nursery is decorated in. Aw Yeah!

Baby Shower Cake

This is the first cake I have done in awhile and I think it turned out great! Congrats to Antonella & Todd who this baby shower cake was for! I put close up pictures of each of the animals separately because I am really happy with them :)

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone! I know it has been awhile since I posted any new cakes but as most of you know, I am pregnant! It is really funny that one of the things that absolutely turns my stomach now is the smell of butter cream icing so I haven't been making many cakes. For this cake I copied a cake from the wilton books however I covered it with stars instead of fondant to make the chick look fuzzy :) This is one of the few I will be making in the upcoming months including 2 baby shower cakes. Hope you all have a happy Easter!

Jeannie's Birthday Cake!

Happy Birthday Jeannie! The figures on this cake were made of fondant with gumtext. They are Jeannie with two of her dogs, Lacey and (my favorite) Abby!

Tyler's Monkey Birthday Cake!

Happy Birthday Tyler! My cousin's son Tyler turned one and she asked for a monkey cake with the colors green & blue and said I can do what I want. I love it when I can just have fun with the cake design and I think this one turned out great!


I made all the monkeys, the number 1 and Tyler's name out of fondant with Gumtext in it. I decided to show close-ups of the monkeys because they turned out so cute!


This is the monkey on the side of the cake reaching for the number one. I love it when kids stick out their tongue when they are really reaching for something so that is what this monkey is doing. Sorry the picture is a little blurry.


This monkey is eating a tiny banana!


This is Tyler's smasher cake. I used the mini bear pan and cut off the ears then attached them a little lower with icing. I also had to shave off the bear's tummy and legs to make it look more like a monkey. The face, legs and tail are all icing!
